Dirt floors trigger sickness. Lousy leaky roofs create sickness. A solid home is an asset that can be transferred between generations. HMO partnered with a group of young Italian volunteers to build dozens of new wood houses with cement floors. Concepts is simple. HMO provides the raw material and a "cookie cutter" process and plan. Teams of youngsters ( angels really) / builders come from Italy and go on location to build a set of simple houses in two days. Family selection is the hardest part...
HMO has funded dozens of houses and pushed to have local Peruvian college students to go build those houses. It raises awareness of the level poverty in the country within the local community of future business leaders while they are still in college.
